George Schlitz2024-07-27"You don't need it." This may have been the most repeated sentence during Dave's 3-hour visit - and the most unexpected value. The truth is, I had overdone it. We do a lot of work from home, so reliable internet is critical to us. I had purchased a bunch of mesh routers (my home is 1 floor and pretty spread out), installed them all over the house, and upgraded my internet service to 2GB fiber. And I still was not getting great speeds or reliability. Frustrated calls to the ISP always were 30 minute runaround with the same conclusion - "You're getting 2GB when it gets to your router." Great - but that's no use to us if we don't get good speeds after the router (and ours were 1/15 - 1/10 of this at best). I started searching for reviews of people who provide good home networking diagnosis and solutions. Yelp reviews led me to DM Networking. From the first call, Dave was a breath of fresh air. He is incredibly passionate about his work, and asked a number of questions to learn about what I was looking for and about my current setup, home layout, ISP, devices, and more. By the end of the call, Dave had already made a number of recommendations that already would have been worth his fees, and even said I probably could take those recommendations and get a lot more out of our network without hiring him. I wanted peace of mind though, and thought that an expert seeing things in person would be able to find more problems - so I hired him to do an assessment of our home network, test the cables and equipment, optimize speeds where our home offices are, and make a recommendation about whether I should get some ethernet wiring put in. Dave spent 3 hours doing these things, the entire time essentially providing a basic networking class. I learned things about cables, speed limitations of different routers, speed limitations of wifi vs ethernet cables, and more. Most impactful is that when we tried something different, we tested it immediately, and he was right 100% of the time. Changes made: - I had way more equipment than I needed (there were mesh routers everywhere), and after Dave's simplifying, I was able to return a number of mesh routers (this covered a large portion of the fee by itself). - Dave connected the few routers we kept by cable instead of relying on wifi. WAY faster internal speeds everywhere. - I was not utilizing the power of the ISP-provided main router, which apparently was way better than any of the mesh routers - I would be just as well served with 1GB service than 2GB, so I will be trying to get some more savings there soon - I was creating multiple networks when I only needed one - There are a couple of opportunities to run ethernet wire through to existing ports pretty easily should I want even better speeds in certain places. So, after Dave's visit, we have 2-4 times better speeds in different parts of the house. We have far less equipment and a simpler overall network. Finally, I learned a ton. I highly recommend DM Networking if you want to optimize your home network.
Byron Harmon2024-07-22I recently relocated to the Dallas area and the place where I moved to didn’t have traditional WiFi service. It’s handled by a fairly new ISP. I have a pretty substantial technical set up for my home office\studio so high quality WiFi and internet service is a must. I was having some issues and I contacted David who spent nearly an hour on the phone with me diagnosing and troubleshooting with me. His expert technical skills and patience solved my issues. It was like a taking a class in WiFi. David is\was amazing and will be my go to source for all things IT related.

It ended up being bad wires but it was a small price to pay for the expertise and and piece of mind that we’re now using the full speeds we’re paying for.
goonergirl24042024-06-10I rarely write reviews, but David's knowledge and customer service was so exceptional I just had to do it! I originally called to get a wifi issue taken care of for a 4400 sq ft home. David came out, assessed the situation gave me a high level estimate and the work proceed. Long story short, it took longer then originally planned due to correcting issues caused the networking company who originally installed my eero sytem. Additionally he reset my entire ring system caused due to issues around the intermittent wifi. David also used his A/V contact to fix my Sonos sytem ( although it is still buggy due to an upgrade recently made by Sonos 😞). David took time to follow up a couple of times to ensure everything was still working fine. I found David to be knowledgeable, kind and honest. If you need an expert in networking, call him, you won't regret it!
